Visit from Katherine Rundell, Oxford University Fellow and Author
Hellenic Academy is grateful for the opportunity to have had the experienced and successful Katherine Rundell demonstrate how exciting and how possible it is to pursue a career in creative writing.
Last Thursday, 17 February, Hellenic Academy welcomed a very special guest, Katherine Rundell. A Zimbabwean, who lives and lectures at Oxford University (All Souls College), Katherine led a workshop on creative writing and making a living from it! Many of the pupils had read her books , “The Explorer”, “The Wolf Rider” and “Rooftoppers”. Her captivating talk detailed her journey to becoming an author and the experience it has offered her to travel all over the world. The students were riveted – hearing what opportunities being an author can bring.
Many pupils came away, inspired to pursue their own dreams in creative writing as Katherine emphasized that such aspirations were more than realistic.
