Triathlon Event 2022


The Bonaqua Africa Triathlon Cup 2022 took place in Troutbeck this past weekend. We are immensely proud of our Hellenic pupils who took part. Special mention goes to Xander Stevenson, Emmanuel Gore, Owen Major who won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively coming in first, second and third in the U13 division. A hat trick for Hellenic Academy!

Open Day


On Monday, 21 st March we held our first Open Day since 2020.  We welcomed hundreds of Grade 6 and 7 pupils and their parents to the Academy.  They had the opportunity to spend a couple of hours experiencing various academic, music and sporting activities and exploring our campus and interacting with our staff and pupils.

Greek Independence Day


Today, 25th March, marks an important day in the history of Greece. Hellenic Primary School and Hellenic Academy took part in an Independence Day Remembrance Ceremony on the 24th of March. In 1821, the Greeks came together to rise up against the Ottoman Empire which had occupied Greece for almost 400 years, leading to the war of independence.

Eisteddfod News


As the Eisteddfod draws to a close, we are excited to report the following outstanding achievements in the Choral Section of the Festival. The Hellenic L6 Trio featuring Albert Sibanda, Anthony Marini and Mufaro Mukonoweshuro were awarded an Honours Grade for their charming Jazz number.

For the first time in two years Hellenic Academy is participating in a full programme of Vocal and Instrumental classes at the National Institute of Allied Arts Eisteddfod. All events are live and approximately 250 pupils will participate in 103 events over the next 3 weeks.


Athletics and Cricket


The Academy’s Girls Athletics team travelled to Chisipite Senior School to take part in an invitational meet on 4th February 2022. This was the first inter-schools competition in almost three years. The athletes were in good spirits and were ready to make their mark.

7’s Rugby


Hellenic Academy is proud to welcome back the much anticipated 7’s Rugby series to our first term calendar. This series is played for 6 consecutive weeks across all age groups. It is a high energy and highly entertaining version of traditional Rugby.
